Salem Police Sergeant Jim Dundon Sgt. Dundon was the Salem Police Department EVOC program Sergeant from 1998 to 2006. In this capacity he over-saw a great deal of positive change in the program and led a group of instructors by his passion and commitment.. During his tenure in the program Sgt. Dundon oversaw the following;
Sgt. Dundon is quick to praise the instructors that had a big hand in bringing about the changes above, particularly Cpl. Dennis Keena and Cpl. Tim Dezotell. When asked to describe his most memorable accomplishments Sgt. Dundon said that it has been working with the instructor cadre and building relationships with the City Attorneys office, Fleet Management, the Academy and the Risk Managers office. He said that building these strong ties has continued to pay dividends for the program and the city. Sgt. Dundon added that he is proud of the program being able to instruct city employees, citizen academy attendees, cadet academy attendees and others in skid recovery and control with the programs "Skid Car". Sgt. Dundon said that he was very fortunate to have a strong instructor base that he was privileged to work with. In addition to managing the program, Sgt. Dundon also attended the PIT instructors course and trained numerous officers in its use. Sgt. Dundon’s presence in the program will be greatly missed, but his work with the program will continue on for a very long time.
