San Diego Police Lieutenant John Leas

Lieutenant John Leas has been a certified law enforcement driving instructor since 1986. He currently teaches EVOC for basic academy and in-service training programs for the San Diego Police Department and the San Diego Regional Public Safety Training Institute. Lieutenant Leas holds a Lifetime State College Teaching Credential in California and has taught several hundred students in driver training in his career. John has served on a number of committees as a P.O.S.T. Subject Matter Expert on Emergency Vehicle Operations.
Lieutenant Leas is the project leader in the
development and construction of a new EVOC Facility in San Diego. This facility
will house multi-disciplinary public safety instructors from the San Diego
Police and Fire Departments, San Diego County Sheriff's Department, and the San
Diego Community College District. Lieutenant Leas is the immediate past
President of the San Diego Law
Enforcement Training Managers Association and an
associate of the Police Driving Website as a representative of California.
