I am a reserve
officer with the Palo Alto (CA) Police department and have invented a new safety
device, PowerFlare, that I'd like to inform your groupabout. Designed to
replace dangerous "fusee" road flares, the PowerFlare electronic beacon combines
the latest LED technology with an ultra-rugged mechanicalshell. PowerFlare
units are about the size of a hockey puck and are strong enough to withstand
being run over by large trucks, even at highway speeds (see video on
www.powerflare.com).
PowerFlare products are also used for:
1. Work zone safety: mount on cones or barricades (meets MUTCD Type A and
Cstandards)
2. Search & rescue (SAR) operations: tag areas and items; personal safety
light
3. Attach as a safety light for bicycles and motorcycles (provides
360°coverage)
4. Helicopter landing zones (LZ)
5. SCUBA diving / boating and marine operations: waterproof to 300'
6. Tactical operations (military and SWAT): infrared (IR) version
available
We conducted extensive testing of the product with police and firedepartments
and the U.S. military and have just begun shipping.
