Coming off my mid life crisis? I think that at 74 my mid life crisis, if I ever had one, is far behind me. I speak from experience, having had a professional musical training and being married to a woman with a Guildhall School of Music training as a performer. As for writing paragraphs, I suppose that someone with your limited knowledge of what you speak, would be content with "text speak". A lexicon requiring little intellect to follow but of no use in discussing the arts. Not even pop.

No I am certainly not saying KJ is better than Callas. There are many experts on the singing voice who have said that Callas did not have the best soprano voice of her era, but she was probably the very best interpreter of some of the huge opera roles that she played. K J is a mezzo and also not an opera singer as such. She does perform operatic arias on the concert platform but she is more accurately described as a classical singer. As is Faryl.

(continued) SuBo has failed to appear at at least four venues on the BGT Live Tour. She has been reported as behaving very oddly at times and screaming for her pet cat. She was recently sent back to London from the tour because of concerns over her health. Hence my remarks about her not being able to stand the pace of the tour seem to be vindicated. I am not gloating over this; just stating things as they are. There are about ten venues to go. Can she she stand the pressure? who knows?

Lanza had a good voice but he never performed in an opera simply because his voice lacked the training to give it the stamina to sustain a performance. Elvis was a pop singer, apart from regular voice execises to keep if in trim, no serious vocal training needed. As for Lanza and Presley being the greatest of the century, there are too many better predecessors to mention. As for SuBo the number of YT hits may make you famous but it does not make you a great singer.

What a load of bollocks. Two of them, Faryl and Katherine are classical singers. Nothing at all to do with sex symbols. Katherine is the biggest selling female classical singer in the world currently. SuBo is not a star, she is a YT phenomenon. She cannot stand the pace of a mini tour of the UK and has had to pull out, Kath and Faryl perform at highly prestigious concert venues and are held in high regard by other classical stars.
